If you want one tonight, Howard's Obit. is in the Akron Beacon Journal on November 10th. You can purchase it online for $2.95 at www.legacy.com. He died at the Akron City Hospital at 4:35 AM according to the Ohio State death records certificate 095350. So, perhaps that's why his was published in the Beacon-Journal.

Genevieve's Obit cannot be found at Legacy.com. Perhaps that's because she died at home in Wadsworth at 7:15 PM according to the OSDR certificate 41811.

Since Wadsworth is in Medina County the newspaper to check is the Medina County Gazette. You won't be able to find it online unfortunately.

Go to the Medina County Library's webpage. http://www.medina.lib.oh.us where under "Reference Resources" there is an obituary lookup tool. Putting in the name Ryland brings up 9 obituaries. Two for Howard and one for Genevieve.

If you click in the boxes in front and then "View Saved" you can then go to another window in which you can request the obituaries to be sent to you.

If you still need help with the process, feel free to contact the librarians at the Medina Branch.

No, I don't work there, but as a librarian I get lots of similair requests for our local newspaper. Please support your local library.

In a NewsBank search for obituaries, I was only able to locate Howard, which I've sent directly to your email. There is none given for Genevieve.

Check with the Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel in Wadsworth, Ohio. Usually the funeral home sends the announcement to the newspapers.

I'm so very sorry that you had to suffer the ills of this person. I do understand your situation, as like alot of others, I too suffered the same childhood fate, as did all of my siblings. It is a difficult emotional situation that is hard to process, especially as a child. Their is fear, anger, hate, guilt, frustration and distrust that has to be worked through. The biggest question to be answered is how someone that you are suppose to love and trust, can violate you and rob you of your happiness. I found that I could not answer these questions on my own, and sought professional counseling to help me work through this emotional baggage. Unfortunetly, I waited about 35 years too long before receiving counseling, but I am still grateful that I did ask for help, so please, do yourself a favor and "do" seek counseling from a professional who deals with these type of situations. I would suggest also, that as painful as it may be, I would make a written record of what happened and if you don't want to share it with family members at this point, put it in a safe place for now. I would assume, as with most abusers, that if this person did something to you, he also has other victims out there as well who may be going through an emotional roller coaster as well. It is time to take back your life and not allow this person to hold power over your emotions anymore. God bless you and please seek counseling. You deserve to start healing and to live a happy life.

Hillcrest Memorial Gardens is in Seville, Medina County, OH. On the sign to the cemetery there is also listed Roberts Funeral Home. Maybe they could help you if they are the ones who handle the burial. Also I get stuff like this off the site Gravefinder.com (it's free). They have this cemetery listed but only have 137 people listed. You can see who the members are who listed and maybe politely ask one of them if they could look for your aunt and uncle next time.
Good Luck

Contact the library in Wadsworth. You will need the dates so that they can look them up and it will cost you.

You might also try the cemetery. They may have a copy in their records.

You can check the library, public records or archives inside the courthouse. Or at the gravesite or even the funeral home that had the visitation.
