I interviewed with a major regional clothing retailer, and the interviewer actually asked me my date of birth, including the year. I asked, "Is that question legal for an interview?" She said she didn't know. I assured her that it is, but that didn't seem to matter to her. You *know* that I didn't stay for any more questions. I thanked her for her time and excused myself. End of story.

I was once asked how much I was going to pay my babysitter. I just said we hadn't settled on that yet.
And yes, I got the job, and yes, the interviewer, who was my boss while I was there, was an overall idiot, not just with that goofy and illegal interview question.

"Do you own any Nintendo products?"
It was for an interview with Nintendo... I said I didn't because I was 32 years old and single with no kids, which was probably not the best answer. She just said "fair enough".
