Ok, say we make a hasty pullout before the current Iraqi government is in place and stable. There is a huge likelihood that the government will fall into the hands of radical fanatics who subscribe to Bin Laden's world view. They will have access to more than $8 BILLION worth of oil revenues which will then purchase any type of weapon they so desire including nerve gas, blood agents, chemical weapons, and perhaps even nukes from the former USSR.
Think 9/11 was bad? Think the war is bad? The next attack could make 9/11 look like a walk in the park. They'll be able to attack any western or non-Muslim country they want and afterwards, the bashers, whiners, and protesters of the war that aren't gassed or glowing will be b*tching at the top of your lungs that we should have done more.

Having a brother in the army, who is currently in Iraq gives a new perspective on this whole situation.
That being said, it really is no longer a "war" per say, but rather a rebuilding. We've gotten Saddam out of power, replaced the government, but we can't leave just yet. We have to clean up our mess. If we leave now, the whole government we blew stuff up to create will fail because it is not strong enough to handle power yet. Iraq may go into Civil war and completely turn back around, leading to possible alliances with "unfriendly" nations. That would be bad for everyone because Lord knows, we'll probably be their first target.
We cannot leave just yet... unless you and others want another Vietnam or pre-WWII Germany (look at your history textbooks for more info).
Want to debate this, let me know.

The British are reducing their troop presence because their sector of responsibility (roughly the area once called the Kingdom of Basra) is fairly quiet. Most Al-Queda activities are centered in Al Anbar and Diyala Provinces, well north of the British sector.

War is over. Rebuilding is in place. US has a history of continuing to help countries that it has gone to war with. We hang around to help the people in power get strong enough to help themselves. Morality is an issue that a lot of people spout but actually know nothing about. When you destroy a country if you are moral you help rebuild it, if you are not moral you leave and let them handle it on their own even if they aren't capable financially or strength wise or governmentally strong enough. Pretty mixed mess. We seem to have more problems with our own country when they spend money to help another country to rebuild than when we just wipe them out and walk away.

The problem with this "war" is that our fearless leader is an idiot who won't admit to lying to us. It's not really a war for us to win...or lose for that matter. Bush and his cronies create that dichotomy to force Americans to choose one side or the other. Of course, no one wants to "lose," or be losers. Americans are just getting bamboozled into thinking that this is a win or lose situation. We can't leave not b/c we have to "win", we can't leave b/c we owe it to the Iraqis to help recreate the stability that they had under Saddam. But this isn't why Bush wants to stay...and herein lies the problem. I can't support staying even though I know its the right thing to do b/c Bush and Haliburton Blackwater etc..are there to make money, set-up an imperial presence, and control oil...NOT put the Iraqis lives back together

While a complete withdrawal has been ruled out for the time being, US military forces in Iraq are indeed being scaled down. It's all part of pleasing the US population and working up to the point that the Iraqi security forces can take care of their own country independently.

Why?? Simply because Bush is a fundamentalist Christian.
As Christianity's 2,000 year history of genocides, crimes against humanity, inquisitions , slaughters atrocities , rapes , lynchings, burnings tortures etc etc attest to,Bush is still not satisfied that his ILLEGAL war of choice that is based upon a pack of filthy stinking lies has only slaughtered some 400,000 INNOCENT Iraqi Muslim civilians so far .
Bush is merely one in a long line of thousands down through history that have USED AND ABUSED GOD, CHRIST, AND CHRISTIANITY TO JUSTIFY THEIR MORAL ABOMINATIONS.
Bush is simply an evil person as defined by Christian moral code.

By posting this you freely admit that you are out of step with Bush and his future plans. The recent reports from our General outlines a troop reduction. Do some research before posting this biased crap.
