I do cardio for at least 30 minutes everyday, I strength train 3 times a week, I eat healthy meals and I also eat a moderate amount of ice cream and candy. I eat about 3000 calories a day, sometimes more and I have not gained any inches and my clothes fit the same. Does this mean that my metabolism is fast? I am 5'2, 31, female, size 2-4, my weight fluctuates from 123 to 127 depending on time of day.

5ft2 and 2/4 at 125! Geez, I'm a size 6/8 and the same height/weight as you...talk about making me feel bad lol.

I'd imagine you must be very lean with low body fat and high muscle mass. And yes, I'd think you have a very fast metabolism if you are eating that many calories and not gaining a single pound. Remember, strength training builds muscle and muscle is what burns the fat. The more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism will be.

You exercise regularly but that's quite alot of calories there so i would say yes you have a fast metabolism - helped by your workouts. However remember that a persons metabolism slows down as they get older so don't overdo it with the food. Try to eat sensibly. And the ideal time to weigh yourself is first thing in the morning after you've been to the loo and before breakfast. That shows your real weight..

well it depends on what you are comparing your metabolism too
well one way of telling would be by how quickly drugs affet you compared to the amount of time that the label or insert says it may take for the drug to take affect the more quickly you feel the affects and the more quickly the affects dissapate the fatster your metabolism and if it is a fast metabolism then you can thank your parents for that b/c genetics determine your metabolic abilities

All it means is that you are intaking about the same number of calories that you are burning each day.
