Is that the same Most Reverend Dr Desmond Tutu. The Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town! Interesting. that is what I think. He still holds that Bible, and now teach it all. Asks for peace in the name of the Bible, and quote the Bible to have peace between all people.

I guess it is a statement on those particular missionaries and the political exercise of using religion to gain a foothold. If it is a statement on Christianity, then it become ironic that he became an archbishop.

That sounds quite accurate. You do have to admit that it was more than just the missionaries who took the land from the native peoples.

I think it is a very succinct summary of the imperialism and exploitation of Africa by the Europeans. Notably Britain and France.

I've always found it somewhat darkly humorous that so many people follow a religion that was used to oppress torture and kill their ancestors.
