"Came from apes"
Is better than "came from monkeys" , but is still a major mis-statement.
"Robots"? Well it all depends on what you mean by robots, to pinch an argument from a certain philosopher.

I would recommend "The Robot's Rebellion: finding meaning in the age of Darwin" by Keith Stanovich.
Not a light read, but it addresses your question in depth.

Okay, learn that Science Fiction is just fiction. Also, get some nice, calming drugs to bring you back to reality.

And evolution would be the evolving from apes thing. That would be because there are facts backing it up. Yes, mean, old, nasty facts.
