I didn't know this. However, since you have asked. I would think knowing the wonderful, special souls that are in the special olympics, that they would choose not to beat others brains out, because they are all loving people (children). People who are really loving do not look to boxing as a "sport" but an ugly representation of society's ills today.

The sport of boxing itself can lead its athletes to become mentally handicapped, so there's no need for it to be in the Special Olympics.
