I'm lazy about making my lunches for work every night, so I'm wondering if I can make like 5 sandwiches on a sunday night and eat them throughout the week. Would a ppj or sandwich with mayo or lettuce on it go bad by the end of the week?
Thanks for the answers and let me know if you guys have any good ideas.

I have never done this, so I'm just going by what I'd think.

I think the PB&J would have a better chance of surviving the week, then would a sandwich with lettuce and tomato. Because these items both go bad fairly quickly once cut / torn.

So if I were you I would go with PB&J.

Do you like pasta? You could always just make a bit bunch and then put it into containers and bring it to work to heat up. Just an idea :) My boyfriend takes leftovers like that all the time.

Good Luck!

After about two days, the bread will start to go hard. If you use Mayo, eat those sandwiches first, in case the mayo starts to spoil. Save the PB&J for the last sandwich of the week, as it will last the longest.

Curly edges, soggy bread, solid bread and limp fillings will be the main problems.

You would also have to be scrupulous about hygeine to avoid getting bacteria and other nasties on the food whilst preparing it, after sitting for 5 days, even in a fridge, I'd be concerned about making yourself ill - because no cooking is taking place you're at greater risk of this type of problem.

You could try making a weeks worth of sarnies, but I think the results will be pretty unappetising by about Wednesday.

Unless you have really complicated fillings, it should only take a couple of minutes each day to sort some sandwiches out. Personally, I think it will be worth the effort to make them fresh each day!

I am a mom and I make the lunches the night before and then refrigerate them. Let me tell you for the PB&J the bread will be hard by thenext afternoon, and for ham or delie items w/ mayo, the bread will be soggy.
Try getting the condiment packets from costco for the mayo. and for the PB&J, try the Uncrustables my kids love them!
you may need 2-3 of them at a time but they survive longer.

buy your lunch at work, this would be healthier for you since you do not have a clue.
