Is there another way to dispute besides just hitting reply?

No, there is no other way. You must simply bow to the gods of Yahoo or continue getting V notices until your account gets suspended. It is not fair, but I doubt their are willing to play fair. The rules are set in favor of trolls and weaklings. Go figure.

Pointless - my previous account is still getting violation notices even though it's been suspended for months - you're dealing with unthinking robots here, not human beings.

I too have tried this without much sucess before and it seems to me Yahoo ignores what it wants too on this forum,next time I will email Yahoo directly, outside of the forum restrictions if possible.

Tell them you want to know that they have read you complaint (this worked for me).
