If earth did have the un-timely event of a Major Asteroid hitting the planet and millions of people were killed, vanished, but you remained alive, would you entertain the thought that many people might of been raptured and thjat is why so many were missing OR would you be content to think many just died due to the initial hit?

The church being caught up, (1Thessalonians 4:16-17), will have nothing to do with an asteroid impact....and vice versa.

Since when did an asteroid hit make people vanish?

O.K. it might be a bit hard to find the ones that were vaporised, but it would mean that God would have to arrange for all the true believers to be in one spot on Earth when an asteroid that would be big enough to be picked up months before it hit.

If the asteroid hit, say in Australia, and people just vanished at the same time in Paris, New York and Tokyo, then that would be a powerful argument. But that is a really big If!

If a dinosaur-killer hits then the death toll is going to be in the billions. However, most of them will not happen at the exact time of impact, ranging from a few minutes to several years after. And most of them will die in the same way people do today, with their bodies still here.

Will you admit that if an asteroid does hit and only the people affected by it directly (vaporised, heat wave, tidal waves, earthquakes, etc.) die, leaving thousands of corpses, then that would be a totally natural effect and nothing to do with any twisted interpretation of the rapture?

If a major asteroid hit the planet and millions of people were killed, or vanished and I remained alive...I'd think I'd be dead pretty soon from the lack of food, water, and from freezing temperatures which will happen right after the asteroid hits the earth and blocks out the sun by the dust it made to rise up into the atmosphere after the impact.

This reminds me of a Heinlein short story where moon colonists threatened to drop a asteroid on the Earth trying to win their freedom (kind of like the American Revolution).
The Earthers thought so little of the threat that they went to ground zero and threw a party.

It was their own dam* fault that so many died. Of course they did not see it that way.

ADD: So in answer to your question, what you are trying to say is that all the sinless Christians are going to go to ground zero of your asteroid impact wearing their new Reebok shoes and when they get obliterated it is supposed to be because they were believers. The rest of us who got out of the way of a falling asteroid are the "foolish" ones?

Scoff! Scoff!

The only way I'd think it was anything except the asteroid impact would be if I saw people vanish in front of me before it hit. Since that isn't going to happen, my money will be on impact.

Question why is it that white people and black people would rather worship sports event dominated by blacks. But when it comes to Church we can not even pray together. Who cares about a asteroid when we have not even made it to the rapture yet. What about the here and now.

After the tsunami of December 26,2004 when almost 300,000 people died, did you stop and think maybe they were all raptured and you were left behind with us?
Food for thought.

It would depend on who's missing, if there were only athiests and non-Christians left alive there might be something to that. Otherwise it's just an asteroid.

If I were too dumb to notice the huge smoking crater on the horizon, or the destruction and debris raining about me, then I suppose I might come up with any number of damfool explanations.
