No. "Thou Shall NOT kill." In the name of my religion. I would never kill, nor harm anyone. Love one another as the Lord loves you. What would my religion gain by killing another, but lose myself.

Hello, Liz:

ABSOLUTELY NOT! BUT PLEASE NOTE:

In the Old Testament, God commanded the Jews to purge Palestine of people who were sacrificing their children to other gods, permitting homosexuality, etcetera. It was an attempt to establish God's principles in a world headed for complete loss, like before Noah. But Note This! God never commands the Jews to evangelize the world militarily.

Likewise, Christians were commanded to turn the other cheek, and stamp the dust off their shoes when people did not hear the Gospel. It was the Roman Church, and their supporters in the Eastern Church that started military campaigns against the ungodly--this was predicted in the Bible: www.revelado.org/revealed.htm

And Islam was the divine result as God permitted Muslims to do to Christians as they did to others. This conflict will result in Earth's destruction. See "The Rise, Decline, and Death of Islam in Bible Prophecy" at www.revelado.org/islam.htm

We are facing extreme problems and politicians have no remedy. Your only hope is to remain faithful until the end, and yes, Love your enemies as you love yourselves.

Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

I would be willing to kill people to defend myself, my loved ones and my country FROM religion if it gets out of hand.

I would protect my Wife, Pastor, and Church Family, if they were being physically attacked by someone wishing to hurt, or kill them because of our religion. If necessary I would kill. It would not be in the name of my religion, I suppose, but it would be to protect those I love.

only if i'm an idiot, have no self esteem, no professional or romantic prospects, no personal support, no means of enjoying life. then yes, i would kill in the name of religion because at that point, i will believe anything.

I would be willing risk my life and to kill to defend our right to freedom of religion (and the choice to not have one).

If I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that the basis of my faith were true, then a wholehearted yes. But there'd better be a damn good reason for such, any religion I would choose to subscribe to wouldn't have "Thou shalt kill" as one of its commandments.

I do not have a religion, and I would most certainly not be willing to kill people to convert anyone to atheism.

no religion teaches to kill innocent people.in QURAN the verses referring to kill disbelievers are actually war verses revealed in the battlefied in case of combat ,they have been misused by deviated extremist muslims and also have been quoted out of context by the enemies of islam to defame ISLAM,the word ISLAM "means submission to the Will of ONE GOD THROUGH PEACE"and "MUSLIM" is the one who submits his will to the ONE TRUE GOD IN PEACE.Is there any other religion which by the definition of itself refers to peace or non-violence other than ISLAM or followers of any faith other than islam by definition can be referred to in terms of peace or non-violence?

I don't know. I've never met anybody named Atheist.

I don't think I'd be willing to kill someone just because they had the same name as my belief system, though.
