okay so im supposed to think of a new game for th elil kids class at the dojo to play at the end of clas, aside from the ussual dodge ball, races and all that i had an idea for a new one

say we have 20 kids, ten on ten on each wall. each kids hs a certain person from the other team that they have to pin down before the time runs out.

wehn i say GO! they all run to the middle and try to pin eachother down. there will be three one minuete rounds. the winner goes back to the wall and does not move, the loser is out.

the team with the most peopel still at the wall wins!

do you like the ideA?

I sometimes take a large inflatable ball, like a soft exercise ball and we play crab soccer. It helps to build their legs, hips, arms and shoulders. The ball has to roll across the goal line or not bounce higher than two feet when it crosses the goal line. Another one we do is tug-a-war; student against student-single elimination, using a long white belt and if you let go you also lose. This builds their leg, arm, shoulder, hand and grip strength. Another game we do is with a heavy bo staff-they each get set and hold the staff in a fighting type stance and try to make the other person take a step by moving the staff or pulling or pushing on it and disrupting the other's balance.

do dodge ball!!!!
throw wrenches at them
"if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball"
then
"if you can dodge a ball you can dodge a punch/kick"
that would be perfect training for the kids lol

anyways if yall already teach grappling to the kids it would be cool, if not it might be a lil chaotic

a drill that was actually fun that i did in krav maga was to be aware of our surrounding and protect from multiple attackers was our instructor would have us gather round each other and move around, then he'll call out a body part (head, shoulder, stomach, anywhere) when he does that we try to touch each other in that place while trying not to get touch there ourselves. of course it would be nearly impossible to have a winner because it would be too much movement to keep track of how many times a person tagged another person and got tagged but its still fun, teaches you to be aware of your surroundings, and develops reaction time

Sounds like a pretty great idea to me. Mind you, back when I was a kid doing martial arts, we had to stand in buckets of ice and there were absolutely no "games" involved, so I could be way off.
