In reality, neither should have to come first. But the Bible says that we are to leave Father and Mother and cleave unto our spouse. I think this means that we are bound to the spouse but we can have both provided all agree. Hope this helps.

i guess it really depends on how good/bad your family life is...b/c you can choose your friends/significant other but you can't choose your family...or like in my case...my family b/c i don't have a significant other...lol.
