Every time I plot and carry out revenge, it does nothing to him but comes right back at me, quickly and swiftly. I deserve revenge but am worried now as I plot 1 more. Did I wrong this guy in a previous life and therefore untouchable by me? Is there such a connection?

Get over the negativity.
If you go out of your way to do a negative, negative will come back at you much stronger.
You need to move on or make amends with this person.
Obviously what you are doing is not working.So change!

From a Buddhist perspective, only by letting go of your anger for the non-existent past, can you achieve what you truly seek - to be at peace in the present.
Chasing revenge only causes more pain and suffering. Let go of it and your peace will settle. The actions of the other person will cause his own suffering (or release from it.)

my guess is that you are not being vicious enough. A lot of times we as humans show too much compassion when plotting revenge and thus it is possible for it to be reversed. you must strike like you have never struck before and then you will get your revenge with no backlash
