I had a dream last night that I was swimming in a pool with my friend, but out of nowhere I was knocked out and unable to move and started sinking to the bottom, when my friend dived down and dragged me back up. Then i was floating in the water with little effort, but as soon as my friend swam off the same thing happend again except this time I was drowning for much longer and desperately brought me back to the surface just in time. Anyone know what this means?

This dream was very vivid and felt very real, I could seriously feel myself suffocating, and tried very hard to move my arms and legs but I just couldnt.

I have a similar dream but Im at the beach and I fall on my back just enough to cover my body in the water and it feels like you're trying to fight, you feel your legs moving and your arms. Very vivid for me as well I even feel pressure on my chest keeping me under the water but no one around. It was often I would have it, but I just let it slip out of my mind.
I haven't had it in a while but lets look at drowning metaphorically.
Maybe right now in your life you feel like you're drowning, too much work? Not enough free time? Maybe bills are not being paid or have enough for them all. Maybe a relationship is having to much pressure.
Maybe you know a friend who drowned? Saw a movie with a similar scene?
Or emotionally just broken down inside.
Im thinking maybe its one of the above, but if by chance its not, it could have been just a dream and doesn't mean anything. Everything is in our dreams I believe this to be true, but its how you break it down.

Drowning in water represents you drowning in life's issues. Worry, stress, anxieties, fears, and so on. Being knocked out represents an issue which over took you and subdued you, causing you to sink down worse in your troubles. Friend represents someone who was a source of support and lifted you up. And the process repeated again.

It sounds as if you may be in over your head (drowning) emotionally with some situation in your life. Your friend (most people in your dreams represent aspects of yourself) pulling you out just in time means that you have managed to "stay above water", and things go along "swimmingly" for awhile, then something else happens. You might be telling yourself that it is getting harder and harder to pull yourself out of it, whatever "it" is.

Water in a dream is meant to represent emotion. Maybe you are going through an emotional time and you really think you need your friends help to get you through it
