carmel color, it's neutral, so it will go with any type of decor, but it's not the traditional beige or white walls. I love mine, we have cream colored furniture and dark floors. I painted my walls carmel, and now whatever color of accents/drapes/etc...I put up look great.

you have a blank canvas! Congrats! depending on the size of your room and what the room's purpose is, you may want to go with a lighter shade. Personally I like really bold colors that are striking and colors that people don't associate with "Normal" House colors. My living room is almost a lime green color and it is LOVELY! My carpet is white, my couches are black and everything else is either white or black, including the accesories. People thought I was crazy but it turned out sooo great that I get a LOT of compliments on it and for being so bold and brazen and not letting other people get in my head and talk me out of it.

My suggestion is to pick a color that you find cheery, fun and that you love and then go with a lighter hue of it. Lowe's has their Valspar paint which I LOVE!! It goes on so nicely and the colors are amazing. I would also suggest that you go with bolder accents with the darker hue of your wall color that way you can get away with a lot and the neighbors and family won't think you're crazy!

And as always, remember you can always paint over it if you don't like it. Paint is such a cheap and easy way to make a room look totally different. Have fun and play around with color and leave your furniture the to the neutral jungle. A room with everything one neutral color BOTHERS ME! How can you live in such boredom, GO BOLD!!! good luck!

Everything coordinates with beige & wood. Consider the following colors from Sherwin Williams:

Portabello - a brown, and then find some beautiful sky blue curtains, rug, pillows & other accents

Leisure Blue - with copper/orange accents.

Canyon Clay - a gorgeous dark red/brown that will highlight the beige. Would then buy ashy violet accents.

Coral Island - with pearly white accents

Depends on the size of the room...if it is large-you can get away with more dark and dramatic colors-such as a deep maroon or red and accent with a large mirror. If it is a smaller room, you may want to have only one dark colored wall as an "accent wall" and have the rest be a tan or even a a lighter green.

The best way to determine color for any room is to look at some of your favorite things already in the room. (vases, ceramic pieces..anything you love and enjoy looking at.) These are pieces you already love, so get your inspiration from them. Many times you will find a specific color, (although not dominant) is scattered throughout your home. This is a great way to choose the color for your walls as you are already in love and comfortable with this color.

I'd go for something light to counterbalance the impact of dark floors. I'd choose a warm soft mossy green - light and calm and keeping with the natural tones you already have. I'd avoid colours such as pinks, blues, purples and oranges. I wouldn't choose another neutral tone as that may make the room look bland. I would accessorise with splashes of vibrant lime green in cushions or lamp shades. Have fun!

Tan walls would be the usual. When stay with neutral shades on large areas, it is easier to accent smaller things with color. This way you can change accent colors much easier & with less cost.

Or, light shade to match your accent colors:
I used mint green walls with slightly darker green lace curtains. I had wallpaper border with mauve, plum, greens and beige. Couch pillows & wood furniture covers with mauve & plum material from fabric store.
