You need to go see a doc as it sounds like you could have a sinus infection or kidney problems too. Go to an urgent care center AFTER work if you don't want to take off but you really shouldn't worry about taking off because you may be making others sick by just being at work if you have a cough and runny nose etc.

Sometimes the flu can last up to 2-3 weeks. Have you been resting when not at work and getting plenty of fluids? This will help soothe your irritated throat. I particularly reccomend lemon tea with honey because it will coat your throat. Theraflu is another good medicine to try. There are plenty of other home remedies to help relieve your symptoms. For your morning congestion, use a saline nasal spray. It may sting a little, but it cab be used as often as needed and doesn't create that nasty rebound brought on by other decongestants. For back pain, try to keep an ice pack on for 10-15 minutes in the morning before you go to work.
If the pain and discomfort is not gone by midweek, go to the doctor. Even if you are worried about taking another sick day, you will have even more of them if you don't shake off this virus. Try to arrange your appointment for the afternoon so that you only have to miss half a day. I'm sure that sickness is an acceptable excuse that your employer would understand. I am sure he/she would rather have you recovering so you won't infect your coworkers.

If you have a productive cough, it may well be due to a post nasal drip. Until you can get to the doc, try steaming your nose to try and clear it up (hot water and a towel over your head - this may give some relief). The back pain could be just a pulled muscle due to excessive coughing.
You could try a decongestant, too, if it is going to take several days to get a GP appointment. Ask your local pharmacist what he/she would advise - but don't take them for too long or you could get a rebound effect.

Sounds like a viral illness that's progressed from your cold, if this is so you will tend to get a stiff neck or back, and unfortunately have to fight it out, viral illnesses take time and there's no real treatment but to just be patient with the symptoms, although I'm not a doctor and if it continues seek some professional advise, this doesn't mean you have to see a doctor, just go and speak to a pharmacist,
I would say ride it out and drink plenty of fluids mainly water eat well and relax when you can, drink some hot lemon and honey when its hot and sweat it out is another way sweating is not nice but sweating gets badness out of your body.

i've had colds that last for weeks on end, sometimes all it takes is a little rest, try taking some extra vitamins see if that helps,if the pain in your back is in the upper part you could well have a chest infection and should go to the doctors, can't you make an appointment for your lunch break or ask if you can take an hour out of work to see your doctor? i'd much prefer have a member of staff ask for time out to go to the doctors than risk them having a serious infection that could put them out of work for weeks, because they were too worried to ask for the time to go to the doctors, put your health before work!

To quote you....
"I have just started a new job and only took one day off and don't really want to take a day of to go to the doctors"
A body needs rest to repair itself. You can push through a stressful time, but not without consequences. If your body is run down and requires rest, eventually it will make your life miserable enough to comply.
Take a couple of days. Sleep as much as you feel like sleeping. Eat wholesome foods as much as you are hungry, and drink until you pee like a racehorse.
Happy healing.
