i would suggest you seek professional help at a hairdressers. if it is permanent, I think you have to wait before dying it again. maybe you could put hilites thru the hair to lighten it a bit? i cried for days when i dyed my hair blonde and it went wrong. just keep telling yourself that it is only hair and it can get sorted. good luck

unfortunately putting on a brown will cause you hair to darken even more, the more colour you add to the hair the more build up you get and so a darker col is inevitable, try using a pre-lightener from a chemist mixed with shampoo, (and the peroxide) shampoo into wet hair and shampoo through hair ensuring that you get it all covered quickly and evenly massage it through the hair, the heat from your hands will activate the colour so you need to be ready to remove the colour immediately, stand in front of the mirror and keep an eye on the process as the hair can lighten quite quickly, you shouldn't need to recolour after this if done correctly, remember also that hair looks darker when wet so don't let the colour get too light before removing the creme, any further advice mail me directly same user name at hotmail.com
black is not the hardest colour to remove it is red, the red molecule is the largest molecule and it is very difficult to get into the shaft of the hair, this makes it one of the quickest to fade, because if its size it is also one of the hardest to remove once it is in there, it is not impossible tho

Revlon has a toll free number

Our toll-free number is 1-800-473-8566,
and their web site for colorsilk is
http://haircolor.revlon.com/aspx/colorsilk/ColorSilk.aspx

There are haircolor strippers that will remove the color, but I don't think it will get you back to where you started(think it will also strip some of your own color). I would call Revlon, they know more than we do!!

Good luck!!

You're going to have to get that professionally fixed. There is nothing you can do to lighten the color yourself that won't completely ruin or fry your hair.

Good luck.

Just a word of advice - next time use a temporary color that will blend out in a month or spray color that will immediately wash out to test a dramatic color change to make sure you like it first.

The safest thing you can do is wash wash wash wash. I'd use a harsher shampoo like Head and Shoulders. And I'd wait at least a week to attempt anything else, like highlights.

3 weeks to a month try going for a blonde product dont go by the names as each work differently on different coloured hair and do strand tests to see how long you leave it in for

It'll probably wash out very soon. Most permanent dyes do.
Wash it every day.

it is not advised to redie hair for at least 6 weeks. your hair will become brittle. you can wash it and the color may fade down a bit.
