My family knows my views. But, I don't know if everyone at my church would agree with my views on evolution and homosexuality. They are pretty conservative and some of them, whom I love, border on fanatic. But there are others who are more even-handed.

Yes. I have shared and they do consider me a heretic, but they accept and love me anyway while maintaining the disagreement. I have learned to be at peace with this and more or less allow room for their beliefs as long as they do not threaten the well-being of others. The problem is taht often archaic or unfounded dogma supports the whole castle of faith for them and challenging the idea that the Bible is inerrant, for example, could undermine the whole thing or that relationship without relaly gaining much in return. Instead, I am more likely to single out harmful beliefs and engage them on their own terms.
Example, when the Bible is used to criticize gay people I tend to remind them that by their standards women shouldn't be allowed to comment on this and slaves should still be obeying their masters - if they are going to pick and choose then perhaps we shoud have a standard for doing so and I throw out Love as the standard put forth by Saint Augustine. so I can challenge that one bad tenet without rocking the boat too much.

when discussing the Abrahamic Covenant in it's entirty, yes heretic is a common rebutal. But LDS believe when God promised everything that is His, that includes Godly power. Only Muslims & Jews interpet Abrahamic Covenant thus. Exept they, of course, consider themselves the recepiant respectively.

I talk to my father about my views, he is a very convinced christian. I think if I wasn't his daughter, he'd consider me a heretic but since I am his daughter, he is a bit more tolerant

No, because my friends have all different beliefs. Some don't believe in God at all. I have my faith and others can believe whatever they want. If they ask me, I tell them about mine. I believe in live and let live. Life is too short to be surrounded by disagreeable people in one's personal life. It's only difficult when others decide only their belief is true and correct and they need to legislate it into laws which affect my life.

Some of them have already done that! Some of my family is very, very conservative. I am not. So, in some ways, they would wonder where my faith really is. I do not reject evolution. I do reject the young earth theory because it's just silly to me. Some of my views would cause family members of mine to lift an eyebrow.

No. They don't know enough about it to know what a heretic is.

I may never know. One learns the virtue of keeping silent, and my personal beliefs do not prompt me to proselytize.
