and you will also notice those same people then go on to complain about liberals, welfare, minorities, free speech, abortion, and "removal of prayer from schools".

that's when you get to tell them: "hey buddy, that's America, love it or leave it"

The problem is not what republicans think or say or what the democrats think or say. The problem is the so called pun dints that make all the noise. The fact is most democrats and republicans have a similar view on issues. We all want our families and friends to be safe, successful, have a good education, be healthy, be community leaders and role models we believe in freedom and personal liberty. All we hear is the nonsense and name calling and it inspires us to become even less involved. Do you think the majority of Americans do not vote because it takes to long or it is to hard? No, they don't vote because they feel it does not matter because no matter who wins nothing ever changes all political parties do is point fingers and talk about what the other party did while it was in power. Republicans dont have a "love it or leave it" attitude it is just the idiots like Hannity and Limbaugh and Beck who they allow to speak for them.

Not all Republicans hold that view, but quite a few on here do.

Mel, I have lots of friends fighting over in Iraq, my husband retired a few yrs ago after serving in the Marine Corps for 20 yrs. I am against this war because we have no business being there and our boys are dying for a war that shouldn't have been started by us. It doesn't mean I don't support the troops or am un-American. Don't you want your son home?

Depends on the disagreement. Not all disagreement is un-American. If we're at war, however, and your actions and open sentiments further the goals of America's enemies to the degree that it actually results in supporting, encouraging and emboldening those enemies to the extent that 10s of thousands of Iraqi civilians as well as hundreds of American soldiers and Marines are killed by this emboldened and encouraged enemy, THAT is un-American.

You see, democrats who say that the war is lost, that we should leave, in affect surrender, that our soldiers and Marines are terrorists and, erstwhile Nazi's, give direct aid to our enemies with their words and actions. They embolden those enemies and raise support around the world for the efforts of our enemies. This results in an enemy that realizes that all they need to do is hold out a little longer, kill a few hundred more civilians, another couple hundred Marines and we'll surrender. Wouldn't you feel emboldened by that knowledge? Honestly, wouldn't you feel encouraged? If you answer that question honestly, you'd say 'heck yeah!'

The debate on whether we should go into Iraq is over. It's been over for years. Even the democrats voted for it. Now that we're there, the only option is victory and all Americans need to be behind our military to further their efforts. Don't like how things are going? Recommend an alternative other than surrender and we'll listen. But the only alternative offered by 'progressives' is surrender and that's not going to happen. THAT would be un-American.

You have phrased the question incorrectly.
It should read why do GOOD AMERICANS have a"love it or leave it"attitude and call those that disagree with them as unamerican.

As good Americans we want all those who would like to see America fall to leave our blessed land and never return.

God bless America!
If you are not with us then you are against us.
If you don't like it here just leave and go somewhere better, but if you wish us harm remember this "You have got to bring some as, to get some as"!
You can hire a medium and ask the ghosts of all the dirt bag terrorists that have gone to that big camel ranch in the sky if what I just said is not true!

That's their party attitude. It's like a kid's club they think all of us want to belong to, but there are 1000's of rules and no room for dissention. Calling someone unamerican is the worst insult they can think of, and insults are a way to control.

Because republicans are good at flapping their gums (and not much more)

What are they going to do, try and force anyone that disagrees with them out of the USA? Of course not! They don't have the courage to even try that, so they screech "love it or leave it" at anyone that doesn't tow their party line.

The United States is not perfect. No place is. Every country in the world has it's flaws. When someone points out a flaw so that it can be worked on or fixed, they are immediately labeled as unpatriotic and told to leave by many. There is nothing wrong with wanting your country to improve. In fact, wanting your country to improve is very patriotic.

Oh, I'm not like that at all.

People are entitled to disagree. However if they do so with blinders on or when using 47 double standards for each issue that comes to fruition, then I call them morons.

I for one fully comprehend that over half of American citizens are morons. It never means they're (all) unamerican.

Accusing people of being unpatriotic or unamerican is a very powerful tool. If the democrats had backbone, they would use it too, as there are plenty of opportunities.

I seem to recall a bunch of Democrats saying they'd leave the country and move to some other country to live if a Republican got into office after Clinton. Alec Baldwin was one of them for sure.

Did they leave? Nope. They're still here. I'd have gladly helped pack their U-Hauls, but they never moved anyway.
