Seems to me that there a lot of theists on this Q & A section?
A lot of them say they are trying to enlighten everyone else. Hey it's America. Freedom of speech and freedom of religion but there is no need to trash people for their lack of beliefs. Opinions are welcome but go to a different subject topic if all you want is to belittle people for their lack of beliefs

I personally have already found my answer but you are welcome to keep looking. I think people use R & S on yahoo to offend not to inform and most people on here are just being assholes.

I don't spend time belittling people. I think theist who do should reconsider what they are trying to accomplish. But this is the RELIGION and SPIRITUALITY section. If I ask a question about the Bible, I don't need an answer like, "The Bible was made up." I already know that's not true, I'm looking for insight from another believer. Most questions from atheist that I read seem to be in the argumentative style. I usually don't answer these at all. It's a waste of time. The few I read that appears the questioner is really trying to understand the Christian mindset, I answer with a Christ-like response. (At least I try)

As a polytheist, I'm used to getting it from both sides. It helps to keep a good sense of humor.

If someone is interested in learning about my beliefs, I'll be glad to share them. If they are laboring under misinformation, I tend to be a little more blunt and sarcastic.

I don't belittle people for a LACK of belief in any God or Gods. Why should I belittle someone for understanding the universe in a different way than I do? It's just a waste of everyone's time and energy.

Besides, I find it more fun to joke WITH the atheists than belittle them. Pasta anyone?

I agree no one should be belittled for their beliefs or lack of. However, not to be the one to start fights here, most of atheists on here are the ones calling us ignorant. That's not to say there aren't theists doing the name calling either but you have to admit the problem is not only one sided. If you want an example look at this person called dreamstuff and the crap he post on any religious question he can. He never answers your question he only tries to make you feel inferior for not believing in evolution.

Honey, I don't and will never feel inferior to anyone on this planet for my beliefs. I am a confident person and no one has the power to strip that confidence away from me. I am only saying and giving examples of how your argument is two sided.

BTW I believe in adaptation not evolution. We do adapt to our changing environment but we do not evolve or mutate into a different kind of human.

I come here in order to satisfy my curiosity about what other people believe and what they think about other people's beliefs. There's times where I jump a person using generalizations, but for the most part I'm not here to just argue or belittle others. Everyone is free to believe, or not, as they want.

"there is no need to trash people for their lack of beliefs."

Judging by most of the answers and questions by atheist's on here, I guess that your question/statements only applies to theists, but it's okay for the evangelical atheist's to make baseless accusations about Christians, call them stupid, killers, bigots...etc.

Thank you for giving us an example of the pot calling the kettle black.

Jesus, dude, that's projection. I'm an atheist, and I'm perfectly well aware that the majority of the offensive is done in the Atheist camp. We've got the weapons. They're using the Bible and earplugs as a shield.

Well, this is the "religion and spirituality" section. I don't understand what athiest are doing here except to argue or to start trouble.
