At what point is talking about another's religion 'trashing'?

Trashing something means to attack it without saying why. Giving no reason, but calling it stupid, is "trashing," whereas giving reasons for your argument is simply debate.

The line is blurry around giving a reason, then suggesting that the reason is so sound, it's hard to fathom someone not accepting it.

Trashing would be, IMO, when every waking moment of your day is spent trying to make people/group of people feel inferior/ignorant because they don't believe,act, dress, speak, live they same way you do. I try to answer the question in front of me and well sometimes I'm not as nice as I should be. I am human though and prone to mistakes like everyone else. I am also a bit of a smart a$$ but come by it honestly( got it from my dad).

Talking down. It can be anything that makes one feel it's being labeled as bad or wrong, IMO.
