These kinds of emotional dreams are your unconscious mind helping you to deal with your emotions and express things that are hard to face or deal with in your waking state. These kinds of dreams are very therapeutic and allow you to release your emotions. The person you were communicating with represents your higher self, allowing you to express and release your emotions and establish an emotional balance. The fact that you still felt the emotions releasing when you woke up indicates how important this process is to your mental health. When my husband died, I felt emotionally dead and unable to express my feelings for a long time, and similar dreams I had allowed me to grieve and release my feelings.

Its very strange actually because I think you have mixed up a past life with this one. I think in a past life you were shot. I would think that in that life you may have left behind a child. Its funny because small children see spirit very easily so I would think that would be a memory of your child from that lifetime. I have a strong feeling the son you have now will have been the child from that lifetime too hence how upset you were at having to leave him. Another thing I would think too is that you were the same age then as you are now, that's why the dream. So don't panic, you ain't going anywhere!!

Are you usually a very closed off person who doesn't reveal your emotions to others? This could be your subconscious telling you to trust someone else enough to share your feelings. If you keep everything bottled up, eventually enough pressure will build and will cause an emotional explosion (of sorts). My advice is to talk to a good friend or a family member to release all of this emotion.

I seem to have the same problem. I always analyze my dreams and thoughts. I found that the things that have bothered me thru out the week affects my dreams at night. Our mind is a continuous working process and I have found that it seems to work overtime at night when where sleeping. Its putting all our thoughts from the day together into one thought and unfortunately doesn't always get it together right. I even sometimes have the problem with wanting to open my eyes to get out of the dream and they won't open. I wake up crying and have to get up and walk it off.

I think you need to be able to express how you feel, especially negative feelings without being condemned and criticized. It's only healthy to be able to do that. We all need emotionally safe people with whom we can express our hearts - all the parts of our hearts.
