do you have to seal the seams with something?

No, you do not have to any taping. All you do need to know is to use the correct screws if you use it in a shower or tub area. The screws react to the cement in the board and corrode, then you loos the wall. The sell the screws at the same location you buy the board. They are either green or gray.

No you do not worry about the seams themselves..Do pay attention that all screw heads are counter sunk in the dura rock..Now if you have a out of square wall..and a couple seams bulge due to this..You will have to "float" them particular se3asm so the tile don't pop..to "float" is like they do on the drywall to even up the joints..You can use a thin set..tiling mortar to float any seams like this

I don't think so. Just be sure that your grout lines don't line up on the seams, if possible.

it is not nessesary ,but I would recommend doing it just use your thin-set to fill the joints and blend the sheets together then just start setting your tiles
