I think it is just another guess because there are multiple scriptures in the bible that say that no man knoweth the time nor hour when this will happen, not even Jesus Christ.

Well, there are actually several theories to this. (By the way, as some background info, the Mayan calendar ended around Dec. 21 2012. As a very advanced, sophisticated people, the calender was very accurate as scientists soon found out. Scientists don't know why the Mayan calender ends on this day, but they predicted that the Mayans thought the world would end on that day.) Some believe that the earth will be scorched by the sun because of the alignment of planets, I think. The second theory is that a meteor will crash into earth and cause a whole series of unfortunate events to occur. The third theory is that we will have massive earth quakes and flooding on earth because of planetary alignment issues. I hope this helps you!

'll be looking out for your question after that date if it doesn't turn out to be true. The end of the world doesn't necessarily have to be a predicted, it can come at any instant...even right now. If God chose to do so there are so many ways and means to end the world. A stray asteroid, the sun going berserk, a generalised earthquake, tsunami;etc.
And anyway do you understand what is meant by the end of the world? The end of the existence of human beings?? Who can say that humans are the only forms of life that God would care to preserve in this Universe? Weren't the Dinosaurs annihilated? We humans may no longer be there but the Earth or other planets may still become places where other life forms (maybe better than waring humans!) may develop.
When you equate end of human race with end of the world you hold an anthropocentric view of things....

Hmmm....
1) that should be the very abrupt end of the Mayan calendar, a people who were amazingly advanced for their time and were really good astronomers. Kinda creepy that it just suddendly ends. I mean they're entire civilization just up and disappeared in couple hundred yeas ago. And now their calendar is about to run out. Who in history has had a calendar that has an end date anyways? That's worth some thought.
2) a few comets and/or asteroids are supposed to come exceptionally close to earth in the year or two before and after then.
3) there is one more BIG reason but it escapes me at the moment.
I dont know if i believe it...probably not... but everything is worth thinking about and looking into.

Look at the creditability of your sources: the Mayans didn't predict the end of their civilization, so their "prophetic knowledge" is not very reliable. The same applies for anyone or anything else.
Also consider that the Mayans did not leave a prophecy as far as I can tell, they just assumed that date was a significant one.

Wrong ! You said "prohpets in the Bible?" No The Bible makes no such Prophecy about the timing of the End Times as an exact Time.
Jesus said this about the End Times.
Mat 24:36 ¶ But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Why is it so hard for people to grasp that,? People just for some Dad Gum reason have to know the 'exact time'
People, it is not known,, accept it.

It is all a big guess! The Bible says that not even the ANGELS in Heaven know the day or the hour of His return! How can MAN'S ideology even begin to theorize and come close when the Bible gives ZERO indication as to the EXACT time?

I'm a Christian. I take Jesus literally when he says, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
Therefore, I believe that anyone claiming to know when the end of the world will occur is mistaken about knowing. The point that Christianity teaches is to "...be ready, because it could be anytime.

Ok. That apocalypse 2012 thing right.
People before also claimed that the world would end in 2000. Then later more people said that the world would end on 06/06/2006.
Are we still alive? *searching to slap myself*
