Most Protestants seem to be fine with other denominations of Protestants, but a lot seem to think Catholics arent as Christian as they are.

If you're Protestant, do you consider Catholics to be Christian, same as Methodists or Baptists or Episcopalians? If not, why not?

I've heard some of the arguments, but it mostly seems to boil down to "Catholics do more than you have to in order to get salvation", which doesnt seem like a good reason for Catholics to not get it....

Private Catholic heaven? Sweet, count me in! :D It'll be all Irish whiskey and beer and French cheese and wine and all you can eat spaghetti and taco bar, and Notre Dame wins every Saturday, and no boring puritans to spoil the fun, just like on Family Guy :)

Yes.

I'm a Christian, Protestant, Lutheran.

I believe that Catholics worship the Holy Trinity, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They accept that Jesus Christ died and was resurrected as the full atonement of all of their sins.

They are baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

According to Scripture, nothing else is required for salvation.

Catholics have a lot of beliefs that I'm not comfortable with, but I believe I will see my Catholic friends in eternity with Jesus.

Hello,

The protestants themselves evolved from the original Roman Catholic church and scriptures are the same. The catholics kept a few extra old testament books that were always around and some other sects of Christianity say there are those other gospels like Thomas that were deliberately eliminated though others claim they were forgeries.

Some protestants believe in the doctrine of "eternal security" where once saved , always saved and you get to heaven by faith alone and not good deeds. This has been debated over time but is a bad teaching since it contradicts what Christ said about earning your way to heaven.

When all is said and done, "nobody" can know for sure since never has anyone come back from the dead (really dead) or never has Christ appeared midstream to tell us who has the monopoly on the truth.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

The key to heaven is the sincere belief in Jesus Christ. Yes, Catholics are Christian and they believe in Jesus.

I believe catholics are like any other Christian denomination, they have some beliefs that are different from protestant denominations, but I don't think it means they are not Christians.

Droid,
It should NOT be our place to Judge others. That is going to be the job of our Savior, JESUS CHRIST at the Judgment. I do my best to read, study, and obey HIS WORD, the BIBLE. The New Testament is our guide to be able to find our place in Heaven. If you need assistance in studying, please let me know. Have a wonderful week!!
Thank YOU,
Eds

PS... I do NOT want to be a Protestant or any other Denominational Member. I want to be a member of CHRIST'S CHURCH that was named in the First Century and follow their examples from the New Testament.

Its kinda like asking...If you drive a Chevrolet will you go to heaven...and you thought only people with Ford Trucks make it to heaven...The vehicle {faith} doesnt matter..Its how we apply that faith and live our lives that matters.. Good luck with your answers.....

Yes, if they repent of their sins and ask forgiveness from God and accept Jesus as their personal savior. There is no other way to salvation, according to the bible.

Well that is a good question and a hard one. I don't believe that the catholics are going to hell really i don't know whats up with that. But I cant sit here and say that the pope and mother Theresa are in hell, i just don't believe that, so still your question goes unanswered i guess.
