I do not use foul language-my answers are perhaps in disagreement with a YA's question position-but they are reasoned, non-threatening, and yet so many times my answer is removed. I find it unfair the YA removes answers because someone who does not like that answer hit's report it. Are some of y'all out there so afraid of honest debate that you want to repress any dissent to your position?

Most people don't want to be enlightened, they want to be affirmed.
A lot of people who post questions, don't really want answers. They just want some confirmation for opinions they already have. When the responses they get don't do that, they feel threatened and get defensive.
A reasoned response only makes this situation worse, in that potentially, not only are you proving them wrong, you're making them look stupid too. They get those answers removed simply to protect their own sense of self-worth, and relieve their subsequent feelings of inadequacy.

Are your answers being removed, or are the questions being deleted?

As long it is evident you gave a lot of thought to the answer and weren't half-hearted or bullying, there's no reason people should be upset with an answer, even if it is completely opposite of their own way of thinking. Could be you're answering people who mistake your answers for "nonanswers." Some people are very sensitive or sometimes not in a good state of mind when they ask or read their received answers.

Then you get the people who I just don't have an excuse or understanding of why they'd report an answer. They're just mean, I guess.

I don't mind disagreement, I enjoy a good debate, I wouldn't waste my time here if I did. It would be more accurate to ask why SOME people ... I don't know the questions you are talking about.. were they vulgar, rude or hateful..you can say a lot with out foul language. I see some questions here that are quite untastful yet they are not removed. I am happy to answer your questions, if you would like to contact me..

Certain responses are caught by web-sensors. I think I typed "GFor yourself" once, intending to start a sentence with "For yourself..." and got flagged...I think they thought I was typing a suggestion to do something physically impossible.

Watch your typos/abbreviations!
Sometimes the spell checker says no more misspellings when I can see there are some left...

i agree with you completely. Just because someones opinion is different from yours you get it removed what ever happened to freedom of speech. If you are so scared then you shouldn't be on here because that is what this place is for.

Yes to all your questions. None of these people really want a debate all they want to do is spout quotes and rant.

It depends on what is in the answer, if your answer is questionable they are going to remove it.

not afraid of debate per se but tired of being put down for our beliefs and tired of the same old comments such as it's a fairy tale etc. if you want fair play you must give fair play. do unto others etc.
