dude, i got news for you america has been in debt since before you were born. the only reason why we are so much in debt and yet not running aroud flat broke starving to death is because we are able to pay our debts back it just takes us so long to pay it back that by the time we do we are in more debt from buying other things. Its like lending a dollar to the most popular girl in school for lunch and her not paying you back until the end of the year. By that time you have probably forgoten about the dollar and your just happy she is talking to you.

If that dosent help you this will look up the national debt clock on google there is so many of them you are bound to find one. it will tell you how long america has been in debt an how much debt it has gained while you have been on the site.

We were deeply in debt before the war. For a couple of years under President Clinton the US run a surplus. Never enough to even pay down our even a fraction of our national debt of course, but there was a surplus. The republicans promptly ended that sort of fiscal responsibility. We are fighting the current war using borrowed money. And every dollar we spend for this war is wasted. And we'll be paying for it for a century. Only the republican contracters who elected president Bush will benefit and grow richer.

The national debt is in the trillions of dollars, the real kicker is that money was borrowed from medicare and social security funds so the national debt will grow by $40 trillion when the demand grows as the baby boomers retire. Both social security and medicare will be broke by 2040.

Well, I don't believe we are spending "billions" every week. The U.S. is in debt after every war. I believe we are still paying a tax to pay for the Spanish-American War.

the u.s. is already in debt. it spends $600 billion a year. 10 times more than china, and as much as the top 10 countries in the world combined. the u.s. will probably go into another war when the countries ask for their money back and usa refuses to pay up.
