In growing in Christ I've learned that it's not all about me... as I used to believe it was. I really am going through a spiritual battle right now.. because I feel like I need to be made more humble. This is the one thing I would like to focus on, in my quest towards self-improvement, this month.

If you know any scriptures that will be motivation for me, in this time, I'd appreciate you telling them to me.

Thanks!

Eh good old "seat yourself at the lowest place" always works for that....

but really, go sailing out on the open ocean, or spend a few days hiking in Death Valley, or spend a night looking up at the sky trying to wrap your brain around the actual size of space, or how long it's all really been there and how long it will be there after you're not. Nothing you read can ever impart the sense of humility you get when you're face to face with the vastness and grandeur of creation.

When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom.
Proverbs 11:2
The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom,
and humility comes before honor.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

The Pharisee was looking up to heaven and thanking God he was not a dirty stinking sinner like the tax collector who stood behind him. The sinner would not even raise his gaze from the ground, and he beat on his chest in despair, saying, "God, have mercy on me, a sinner!"

I use that one a LOT. Still working on humility -- which, BTW, is NOT the same as being humiliated.

"I feel like I need to be made more humble"

That is not the way to humility. It is still about your feeling, your quest, and your needs. That "I" can fake humility, but never will be truly humble.

Let it go...as Jesus said "Your will, not mine..."

Let the "I" go and surrender to God.

You want to be humiliated? How else are you going to be humble unless you are humiliated?

Weigh what you are saying on the Spirit of God. He knows what you need. Until then, serve others as Christ commanded.

Why would you want me to tell you how to tempt God?
