God does not let creatures become extinct. They become extinct because we live in a diseased world brought about by sin. When man sinned all of creation was effected. Ex. - While it is very sad that children sometimes die and the innocent suffer, this is not proof that God wants that or chose it for us. Death is a consequence of sin. As a Christian, while I still see death as sad and tragic I know that those children are going into the father's arms and that is a comfort to me. But God did not want us to die an eternal death so He came to earth to die in our place. That is a loving God.

the world is decaying...coming to an end that is why may of His creation are extinct....mainly because of the original sin of Adam and Eve...before they disobeyed God...everything was perfect...no one new anything about death until...they ate of the forbidden fruit..so goes with the world...as Adam and Eve and the rest of the world will experience physical death..so will all creation...but to those who have received Christ as Lord and Saviour...they are all waiting for the new heaven and the new earth were decay and death no longer exist but of life eternal with God.... :-)

Just like we take birth; live our span of life and die; similarly the 'extinct' have done their task here and were withdrawn by the CREATOR!!!!

He gave man dominion over them so evidently we didn't take care of them. We blame God when we should be blaming man.
