Yes, power of suggestion.
children will believe what ever they are told, they are sponges that are to be molded and someone is molding this child with false beliefs.

While that might cause some confusion, it shouldn't make a child hate its mother, especially if reality is different than what the grandmother is telling it. I mean why would a child think he/she was being beaten when its not happening?
I think if the mother is a smart woman, she will keep the grandmother at arms length and never leave the child with her.

Yes, if they hear it often and they feel sorry for themselves. It is very bad for a Grandparent to tell a child that they are being abused. They should ask them what they did to get yelled at or what ever and try to help not undermine the parents. All kids need discipline, and when they are ugly to their parents and talk back should be spanked right away or sent to their room. Other wise they will grow up to be hateful and self centered.

OH!!! yes especially a grandparent cause where mom and dad says no they say yes .so to a child mom and dad are the bad guys and if the grandmother tells a child that mom or dad are always mean to him/her that child will start to believe it and reject them then grandmother comes out as the good guy and the loving one

He could, but the mother has to cut the ties with the grandmother and keep the child from hearing this, or explain that the grandmother is senile and even sees little green men from mars as well.

Hate is a strong word! The child will Definitely grow up to resent the mother because of all of the negative information that is being instilled in them right now, by the adults that are influencing them. the safest thing to do is to try and DE-program all of the negativity and explain to the child, if need be; why he/she has to be scolded or spanked, and to let them know that because they spank or scold them doesn't mean that they are mean or doesn't love them but because they are loved and cared for!Hope it helps you!

Yes. I think that telling a chld that over and over would definitely make the child believe that the mother hates her child. My mother-in-law was able to convince my husband that his dad hated him and for years he believed it...now 20 years later my husband and his dad are best of friends...lies is what kept them apart...it is so sad, but yes, a child can be taught that they are hated/to hate...

The mother herself, maybe other more influential people in their lives, such as the stepfather. In my case, I have a young brother whom the stepdad tried to turn him away from our mother, but I do not think it worked. My mom divorced him now, but that was because he was cheating. I mentioned the mother herself, because my mom's stupidity and spying and all the mental abuse she gives me (not up to the point of suicide, but still some) I have rejected her as a mother.

Yes because its a mind game and if a child hears it enough they will be convinced of it that is why adults should not be negative around children
