Allusion to the wall which seperated the Court of the Jews from the Court of the Gentiles in the temple. The Gentiles got the death penalty for going beyond it
Jesus brought these two groups into one, Jew and Gentile

The partition was your spirit described in Ephesians 2:1; as '...dead in your trespasses and sins...' Ephesians 2:12 reiterates this point : '... remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
It is Christ who has removed that partition, by giving you His Spirit in place of your dead spirit. In doing this the exclusions in the last verse above are removed.

Check this out in the Amplified Bible;
Ephesians 2:13-15
[13] But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were [so] far away, through (by, in) the blood of Christ have been brought near.
[14] For He is [Himself] our peace (our bond of unity and harmony). He has made us both [Jew and Gentile] one [body], and has broken down (destroyed, abolished) the hostile dividing wall between us,
[15] By abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man [one new quality of humanity out of the two], so making peace.
OK verse 13......This scripture is about how Jesus died for us to redeem us, to restore our relationship with Him.
In verse 14 the "wall of partition between us;" or as the Amplified says it "the hostile dividing wall between us"
That wall can only be one thing........SIN......it was the wall between us and God.
Once Jesus died for our sins He restored our relationship by breaking down the wall of sin.
Hope this helps.

I think it is talking about the body of Christ. There used to be a division between Jews and gentiles and through Christ this wall was removed. all have been saved through Christ and united together in one body of believers.
Look at the verses before it: [Paul talking to the gentiles] "remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ."

By means of Christ, the Law was abolished and the basis was laid for Jews and Gentiles to become one body, members of the household of God, a temple for God to inhabit by spirit

We were separated from the Father by our sins. His sacrifice broke down that wall.
