Yes, the cabbage soup diet does work, but it's not something that you can live on. If you need to slim down quick for a special occasion, it's great, but you should know that the weight will come back unless you make diet changes that you can live with EVERYDAY, not just for a week or two.
Also, when I did the diet, my body absolutely REEKED of cabbage soup- my skin smelled like it, my hair, even my urine!!!
If you have a special occasion coming up, it's definitely worthwhile to do the diet (i lost 20 lbs in 2.5 weeks), but make sure you have at least a few days to recover so you don't smell like a cabbage.

It really isn't a healthy diet. Any eating plan which is so restrictive is likely to be low or lacking in essential nutrients which will lead to deficiencies which can in turn cause cravings at a future date.
You are far better off fomulating a low fat, balanced eating plan which includes a small amount of your favourite foods, enabling you to stick to it for the long term. A strict diet like the cabbage soup diet will only lead to weight gain once you begin eatng normally again.

Most of my friends didn't even last a week with it. Just eat healthy and excercise instead of punishing yourself with that horrible diet.
It does work but it's not a fun diet. Theres also the stuffed cabbage soup and sweet and sour cabbage soup.
Hope that helps.

Cabbage soup diet is another fad diet that'll last for like a week and then you'll go back to your regular eating habits and gain all the weigh you've lost. Just have a balanced diet and exercise.

Yes,Yes,Yes it works. I have tried it once after I had my last child. I lost 10lbs in one week!!! plus I continued to exercise and tone up my muscles. If at any point in the near future that I would need to lose weight I would definitely choose the cabbage soup diet. My sister is constantly on this diet considering she is in the military and have to maintain a certain weight. She definitely looses the weight she wants but her problem is that she loves home cooked food especially from scratch so her weight is like a yo-yo. Go for it but keep in mind that this diet is not ment for you to stay on for long periods of time. goodluck

It does work. I know a number of people who have used it, but the thing is that you can't eat cabbage soup forever. You might want to try lowering your caloric intake to 1500 calories per day and do light exercise.

Define "work." Many drastic diets will cause you to lose weight. However, the fact that you cannot maintain them for any reasonable length of times means you will stop eating that way out of necessity and the weight will come right back on. If you want to fit into that special dress for Saturday night and need to drop 5 pounds quickly to do so and don't care what happens Sunday, go for it. If you want to lose weight healthily and keep it off, just decrease portion size, increase fruit and veggie intake and get active.

I tried it several years ago. It isn't very nice but it will help you lose a few pounds if you stick with it. However, it's a short term thing originally designed for rapid weight loss before surgery. If you do use it to lose some weight you'll have to make the appropriate life style changes to keep the weight off.

No. It usually fails due to failure to stick and intestinal repercussions.
Why make dieting complicated!?!
Just run for 20minutes every other day and eat proper proportions (1 veg, 1 protein, 1 carb each no bigger than your fist) and drink lots of water. You will see results after a week and a half!
Good luck!

It never worked for me, it just made me feel week and ill, and so boring, you end up eating rubbish through the monotony of sticking to the diet!
Your better off with a calorie controlled diet, better for you, and ultimately easier tho adhere to!!
Good luck!
