The methane gas creating fire hazards.
The smell would be putrid and hard to live with.
The germs from flies flying around on the garbage and then coming into or around my house might leave me at risk for disease.
It would attract animals and we have too many pests here in the city as it is, it would be unsafe for them here.

Landfills cause global warming and are bad for the enviornment. If we cut down on garbage we have more room for land fills in other places. There will also be a law of no landfills soon enough and we will have to compost.
