We all know coffee stains your teeth, but if you dilute coffee with creamer/milk, does it reduce the staining effect? If so, how much? My wedding is Saturday and I've been bleaching my teeth, but I can;t live without coffee! Any suggestions??

if you really care about coffee staining your teeth you wouldn't drink it. I dont think adding milk or creamer will make much of a difference, since its still the same teeth-staining coffee except this time it's creamy.

To be honest, I'm really not sure, but I'm assuming that the milk really won't make a difference. My best advice to you is drink coffee alternatives. An example is Fruit20, a caffeinated water drink Kraft. It's clear and looks just like water, taste like mild fruit and gives you that necessary coffee kick.

Another suggestion is to use a home whitening system that will cancel out any effects that the coffee will have on your teeth's color. To whiten my teeth I use Therabrite by Dr. Harold Katz. It whitened my teeth after five days and I didn't have to have my teeth professionally whitened. It also prevents bad breath by oxidizing your mouth, preventing dry mouth, and preventing the growth of anaerobic bacteria that causes bad breath.

In short, if you can't stop drinking coffee have a good whitening back up!

You can have to staining removed by visiting a dentist/ hygienist who will clean them for you. If you continue to drink tea and coffee they will continue to stain, you just have to keep on top of it. Try and limit the amount of cola you drink. Fizzy drinks are very acidic this can cause wear on you teeth called abraison. This abrasion picks up staining a lot easier and can make it harder to remove. Don't be tempted t brush our teeth harder as this can also wear away the hard enamel and the tooth can become sensitive. Once your teeth have been cleaned there is the option of tooth whitening. Although it is more expensive, see a professional. Tooth whitening kits in the shops are a waste of money and some are no stronger than a toothpaste.

Of course plain black coffee running across your teeth will stain them more so adding cream will help a little bit.

I know this sounds weird 'cause I don't really like sucking warm drinks through a straw, but that helps the liquid from hitting your teeth. My dentist actually recommends to drink orange juice like this too because the acid eats the enamel off your teeth.

You can also try one of the whitener strips too, I just used the Rembrandt 7 day package and I had good results.

No, unless you pour less coffee in the cup to leave room for the cream. The chemicals that stain are still present, and at the same levels, no matter what you mix in, but less actual coffee means less stainers.

You could try drinking with a straw. The straw would direct the liquid past your teeth, less contact means less staining. You could also try alternate sources of caffeine, such as soda. Not colas, they would stain just as badly, try mountain dew or the other "yellow" sodas.

Honestly i'm not sure. If you bleach your teeth at home, drink some coffee and then bleach your teeth. And I personally think that diluted coffee with stain less than coffee that's black. You can also have some coffee and put some Crest White Strips on. AND CONGRATS ON GETTING MARRIED!

I drink my coffee thru a straw or stir stick. It keeps the coffee off of my teeth completely so I don't get any staining! Just make sure the coffee is cooled enough to sip thru a straw.

Congrats on your wedding!!!!

Yes I should think that a milky or creamy coffee would have less effect than black coffee.

Good luck for saturday!

it is still being ingested so it will still stain. you could cool it down and drink it with a straw that helps keep it off your teeth. saw it on tv once.
