My answer is two-fold. In the deceased artists it is Tommy Collins and Patsy Cline. My favorites among the artists still living it is hands down Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn. I reckon a close second among the deceased artists is Lefty Frizzell and Tammy Wynette. My second choices among the artists still living is Alan Jackson and Dolly Parton. I know they are all among what I call the classic country artists with the exception of Alan Jackson, but I can't help it if I'm an old timer who enjoys the artists from the golden age of country music. That was back in a time when life was much simpler and the violence we now see was nothing near what we see today on our televisions and read in our newspapers. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to answer this question.
