For hernia, only treatment is surgery. It is a tailoring job, just cut and stitch. Add a patch if required which is called as meshoplasty. Earlier you do it better for you. Remember, a stitch in time saves nine. No exercise. Yoga can help to prevent further damage. You should not be constipated. Do not lift heavy objects. Even when you sneeze or cough, fold your legs so that the hernia does not descend.

Other than stretching carefully before working out; which should always be done before working out; I can only tell you to go to the herb store near you. See if they have any leaves or tincture of the LOBELIA INFLATA plant. If they have leaves, boil two quarts and a smidgeon of pure water, place two heaping handfuls of leaves in the boiling water and turn the heat down to simmer. After 10 to 15 minutes, turn off the heat and strain through an old but clean white t-shirt. Pour one cup and drink it over a 15 to 20 minute period. This will ease the pain in your back as LOBELIA INFLATA is nature's strongest muscle relaxant. If you don't have the leaves use the tincture to make a tea with pure water. With the leaves any excess you have can be refrigerated and used later.

I have Arthritis and a prolapsed disc, so went off to Pilate's. Have to admit it was hard going, but eventually mastered the concept and exercise. My only wish I had gone to Pilate's twenty years ago. I had severe pain with a Golfers Elbow, although I do not play Golf and the Doc was giving me steroid injections. At Pilate's I was informed that I needed to lean on my arm so it will eventually take my full body weight? Yeah right it's sore, however I started slow and now the elbow is cured!

Is totally dependent on what is causing the problem. Should make that determination prior to undergoing any particular exercise routine.
Stretching is always recommended before sports activities, so must be considered to have some value.
