nope, I'm afraid that i will be long gone before that. and i'm only 16 and im in good health. its sad, what i see happening is nobody will want to join the army and go to the middle east. So instead of realizing that the whole thing was a bad idea like the rest of the country, the government will start the draft. Most of my friends and most likely me will get drafted, and the majority of us will not come back.
It will be a sad day when that happens. Lets just say i might go visit some "relatives" in canada.

Arthur sorry to hear you have cancer. However we have had troops stationed on foreign soil well before I was alive to keep the peace in troubled parts of the world. Will the USA have permanent bases in Iraq? No idea. However after World War 2 and the Korean War, we have bases in England, Germany, Japan, and South Korea. These wars ended and I don't believe I will be alive when the last troops leave these facilities. So what makes you think Iraq and Afganistan are any different?

Well, I don't have cancer and "I" won't be alive when the last troop comes home. I read a few weeks ago Bush wants our troops over in Iraq for 50 to 80 more years. (Total war on terror he says) I'll be 140 years old. Gee!

Doubt it. I'm 36. We still haven't left Japan, Germany or Italy and it's only been 62 years since the war has been over. The only way we'll leave Iraq is if it turns into Vietnam ala 1973-75. You know.. if we get kicked out.

Sorry no reply, he must be out to lunch.
But, in all reality, sad as it may seem, what has your alleged Cancer got to do with Iraq and soldiers coming home.

Well I do hope you feel better soon, and I hope the troops come home soon as well. We'll keep trying to stop criminals like Bush and Cheney.

The world will never be the same for Americans in my lifetime either. But I was sick in 1993 and expected to die also. Don't give up! You are probably wrong with your life expectancy. You will be in my prayers.
