OK I recently bought a “Pro” HD Camcorder it is a Canon XHA1, and I took it to this club where the music was -loud as hell- and well as expected and for what I paid for the camera I’m fascinated with the quality of the video but… the audio sounds like those cheap sound systems that you hear on those “pimped” rides on the streets, like they have a busted speaker, all distorted and you cannot even tell what the DJ was saying.

I thought that it was going to be ok since I set the microphone levels to low and it did not work, it only gave it a lower sound but the same horrible quality

What should I do?
I understand there are special kinds of microphone to use for these loud environments, …only I don’t know which is the best for me to use since I don’t know much about it.

Any tips on what kind, size, model, to use so I can get a good quality sound when recording under the same loud environment?????

Thanks
Any tips will be appreciated

Thanks for answering I appreciate it. Captain
Yes in fact I have tried that in the past and it works wonderfully although there is times in which these guys don’t want anything hooked to their system or they are afraid that you may steal from them “IDK what though”

Thanks for the info. It is very helpful for some other users that may have the same problem that I have and have not consider that such good idea.
I appreciate it

i hope you were wearing ear plugs at this club. the mic on the camcorder, like most mics are designed to pick up whisper quiet sounds. putting a mic in front of a speaker, that could easily permanently ruin the mic. you will need to get a special mic that is intended for super loud environments, suggest you get with a professional audio sales outfit to select an appropriate model, and it could run upwards of $1000 usd. And while you are at it, get earplugs, really important!!

i'm not much of an audio guru, and i'm not that familiar with microphones but i'll give it a shot.

well, if you really want good audio, i suggest you patch directly into the club's sound system--as i understand it, the xha1 has xlr mic/line level inputs

if you don't want to be burdened by a cable, you can use a wireless microphone system. patch the reciever to your camera and place the microphone near a speaker--- just be sure to check your levels.

it's not much but i hope it helps.

you'd need to have different mics and a mixer, if you want to separate sound from noise. if you're recording music take it directly from the console as suggested before.
