I am 14, and recently got all four wisdom teeth out, as well as two bicuspids on the top row. I was told that ice cream was fine, but drinking carbonated drinks could cause dry sockets.

I had those teeth extracted on Thursday Oct. 4, and it is now Monday Oct. 8. Is it safe to drink root beer floats yet? Or should I hold off for another few days?
Thank you.

I'd say go for it....usually the carbonation in root beer floats goes away when you add the icecream and it isn't fizzy like just regular rootbeer floats....enjoy! :) If you are concerned, drink some water afterwards to rinse out your mouth

Hold off until you get your stitches out- you don't want to take a chance with a dry socket, it is very painful. And whatever you do have, don't drink it with a straw!!

I wouldn't drink it.
Do you know how bad a dry socket hurts?
I had one and it was the worse pain in my life.
I think you should speak with the dentist first.

You should probably hold off for 10 days just to be safe....believe me - you don't want "dry sockets".

Drink through a straw to try and stop it swishing around the mouth and dislodging a clot. Another few days and it should be fine.

The float is fine but DO NOT use a straw. if you sick one of your clots loose (I know that is sick) you may get a dry socket.
