I don't know all that is in the bible, but what I do know, I have big doubts about... Like Adam and Eve had 2 sons. Where did the rest of the world population come from????
BUT.... I think it is nice to have faith in something, no matter what it is. To give you hope when things have really got you down.
I just think it's a shame though, when people try to push their beliefs on others. Most wars were started through religion and having different beliefs. Maybe the world would be more peaceful if nobody believed anything. Hmm there's a question in the answer. Believe or not to believe.

I have thought carefully about that question, as a christian, (Or at least, a trier?).
I think,I would still have faith. io stand to be corrected with the fact that, was the bible not originally "From Word Of Mouth"?. Therefore, If someone came ot me, when I was old enough to learn and described, and taught me "Everything That has transpired In the Bible". I would believe It and be content with "Word of Mouth".
Having said that, (As a Book Reader), I believe that the Bible, Is the biggest seller In the world?. would I be right or wrong,
Sometimes, In Faith, I am Indeed a bit of a Doubting Thomas", at sixty five, I really need all the help I can get, as my journey for ever? onward, gets nearer the end.
I couldnt quote the bible, If I tried I am ashamed to say. Having said that, I just know God exists, (and have known since I was a "Very Young child"). The wonder of this knowledge, never fails to amaze me. A sense of a happiness, well beyond capabilities of the human body. Its like I am In a Rather broken down car? (My body) travelling along, knowing for a fact that "I am going to something or someone unimaginably So Beautiful!!. Human terms ot words cant explain It?. Does anyone feel like that?. Please help me along with my old "Motor Car".

The Christian god is likely impossible, but just A god is always possible. How would we know some Deistic type god doesn't exist? If it never acts upon the universe that he created, there's no way to tell if it's there or not. But I still think even that's improbable because 1) how utterly unexplainable it is--you're trying to explain the complexity of the universe with something that must be infinitely more complex, and 2) what we know of the universe proves that no intervention was needed for the universe to exist.

The Bible as we know it did not exist for the first couple of hundred years for the early Christians. The official canon of the Bible wasn't fixed for all time until the 400's A.D.
Each individual church at that time had a small library of what were considered "sacred writings". Some of these were common to most or all of the churches, others were not.
The Bible is God's revealed word. If God had chosen another way to manifest Himself, I'd still believe.

I believe in God because I have a hard time believing consciousness developed as a form of evolution, much like the atheist has a hard time believing there is a God. Same line of thought, different outcome.
I would believe in God even if the bible did not exist. There was hole in my life that was filled by Christ. I thought I was on top of the world until I was humbled and brought to my knees.
Now I know I am not in charge and that I cannot do anything on my own. Left to my own devices I will in the end fail. Without prayer that hole in my heart would still be here. Now I have an inner peace which I never had before. It took me 36 years to get to this conclusion. I am a much happier person now. I am a better husband and a better father for my kids.

I came to be a Christian despite not knowing much about the faith, as I was not brought up in a faith system at all, and here in the UK faith is not taught heavily in school. Never went to church, rejected Christianity many times although I had Christian friends and even married a backslidden Christian.
I had an experience of God through Jesus when my friend invited me to her baptism. I went to support her, but was hugely skeptical as I thought I had life sussed, and it was just awful generally. But the Holy Spirit stirred me inside and I had a bit of a 'road to Damascus' experience. By the end of the service, without anyone praying for me or even knowing what a huge change was happening inside of me, I just met with Jesus, I simpy knew Him. I was baptised in the Spirit, healed of depression, and it was unexpected, unlooked for, totally awesome and life changing. After that I did an alpha course and read a lot about this Jesus I had met, but mostly I just sat and got to know him, sorry but this is when the Bible became important because if you want to know someone, you have to spend time with them and read what other people say about them to see if it is true. I found that it is, but I had to know Jesus was real before I would read it.

I think the notion of God arises from an inner comprehension/experience of a "higher" consciousness. My belief in God has grown into a deeper understanding with age, the more I've connected with my inner-self I've also connected with an objective consciousness, one which has no particular preference for myself, which will let me know if I'm right or wrong about something. It seems to operate mainly on ethics, which themselves are founded on compassion, understanding, truth, respect and consideration.
I must admit, I've been quite surprised at how very kind "God" is, especially since biblical representations portray a generally angry/judgmental character. Also, my inner understanding has helped me with a fairer & more correct interpretation of the Bible & other holy books.
Though I've felt an allegiance to the concept of God since early childhood, it was only in adult life, when I made the decision to become vegetarian/vegan that my loyalty to that higher consciousness was confirmed; I witnessed a being made entirely of light.
Many of my friends & family already believed I'd gone "crazy" because I turned vegan, telling them about the light-figure, just convinced them. As years have gone by and I'm still getting on in life and not on any psycho-drugs etc., they're still reluctant to accept the reality of my experience, yet they cannot deny that I remain an ethical & conscientious person - I'm by no means perfect, but do whatever I can to spread the message of love & friendship within our global community.
I hope this encourages you to connect with and befriend your own inner-self - you don't need to follow any particular religion, all you need is to open up your heart & mind.

Something/someone had to make this universe....the atheist, it all just happened argument doesn't make any sense. The muslims don't have the bible but they believe in some higher power, most religions do even the ancient pagan religions had a hierarchy of worship. It is what you believe that matters, not what someone else thinks.

im a catholic but i dont think i believe in god because as some people say they can feel his spirit well i dont believe that i do but i do believe that people would talk about god if there wasnt a bible the bible came years and years after jesus when someone thought to themselves ive heard alot of stories about this jesus guy so i think ill write about it, its not like god ordered people to write those things, its just like a diary really but of lots of people thoughts. so if it wasnt around there would be something else to document it because its human nature to document things and then file it away.

>>>Christians, would you believe in God if the Bible did not exist?>>>
Yes. God's existence is not dependent on whether or not the Bible exists.
>>>Also, for those who are deeply devout, can you tell me why you believe in God, without quoting or using the Bible in your answer.>>>
A computer, which is a hugely complex machine, exists only because it was created by someone.
Human beings, which are far more complex (physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually) than any computer, also exist. Like the computer, we can only exist unless we were created.
And since it's obvious that we were created, it only follows that there was a Creator who created us.
It's impossible that our existence is just a coincidence or an accident.
