I'm not being discriminatory here, but am just curious as to whether you know of any white, 'native' Brits who have converted- thanks.

In the 1980s I interviewed a Muslim theologian. He was a Glaswegian convert to Islam.
He was Dr James Dickie, and he renamed Dr Yakub Zaki. A very intelligent and intense person, probably in his 80s by now. Interesting experience. His friends said they could not tell much difference between the Calvinism of his youth and the Islam of his adulthood (apart from the dogma). He converted in his teens.

Pop icon of the 60's & early 70's, Cat Stevens = Yusuf Islam today.
He did a very popular christian "Morning has Broken" hit before he converted. Google him for more.
Another one is Jemima Goldsmith - daughter of British billionaire Sir James, who married Imran Khan. Changed name to Haiqa Khan.

Cat Stevens is ethnically a Greek Cypriot ( I think his mother is Swedish) but he is BRITISH and he converted and there are some converts on YA from the UK too.

Yes - my dad!
He is, to be frank, a bit of a nutter. He has drifted around just about every Christian cult and sect there is - he revels in the attention and ego trip of being welcomed in as a convert. Last I heard he had run out of christian congregations, had grown a bin-laden style beard, and converted to Islam!

wow! if you've ever seen inside Mecca city during Ramadhan (which is this month right now), you'll see every sort of muslim from white haired, blue eyed, white skinned, all color races, up through the darkest eyed, curly dark headed /skinned man from deep Africa.... You will be amazed at the vast differences of the many many muslims from all over the world.. There are hundreds of thousands of true white anglosaxon brits who are muslims...

i'm 100% sure the phenomena is well underway in the UK,same as it is here in the USA.
Personally know of 3 that converted to islam for marriage.
See a few in full burqa with brooklyn accents following their man..
remember well back in the 80s another one explaining all about islam and her trip to conversion again for marriage...you will see without doubt a few here and there,either for marriage
or in the case of incarceration--converted for safety reasons during their jail term.

I know a few British("Anglo-Saxon stock") women and men who 'converted' to Islam to marry Muslims and many of the latter were white Asians born in Britian and thereby born as fully British as any Welshman,Scot or Englishman.
