no it is a patronising statement! they feel so sure that they are right, what if they are not ( which they are not) do we say; give thought to the christians, for their saviour is false! no we don't, they should stop with all the pompous " we are here to save you " crap and look at themselves for they are the ones that need saving.

No, not by a long shot. "Sin" is specific to various religions. I suppose you could call riding out of Valhalla to battle the Jutins in final battle atonement, but that doesn't make sense.
There are other problems with it as well i.e. it assumes that "sin" exists and that you need to atone for it. Without supporting evidence to back it up, it is a rather meaningless statement.

(n) : a repair done for the sake of a damaged relationship; (theology) the Atonement: The death of Jesus seen as reconciling God and mankind
synonyms: penance, damages, amends
I dont believe that statement is in the scriptures but it does put in a nutshell the main belief of christian doctrine.
the christian believes that jesus made atonement for all sinners, therefore your statement would be true in that context.

It's not in my Bible, so if that's what you are asking, then no, it's not in there.
Is it true? Well, perhaps, for when you make atonement you are forgiven, so in a way you are blessed.
