I think Latter Day Saints are very nice people because it is part of their religious doctrine and culture. Mormon are taught how to relate to people, how to treat people as equals and be fair. These really are excellent Christian attributes, and Latter Day Saints are very good at teaching the importance of them.

We are nice because being nice is the cool thing to do. Not all of us are, though, so be careful. I know I'm not very nice, lol. Kidding, I'm a nice person. Nobody is perfect. And all Christians are taught to treat others the way we want to be treated, so if you go by that rule...I don't want people to hate on me for my religion or belief system, so I'm certainly not going to do it to someone else. Shouldn't everyone be nice? I swear, the world would be a much better place if everyone would just bite their tongue everytime they wanted to say something hateful.
What's wrong with being nice? Why do you peole have such problems with how nice we are? would you prefer we treat you with contempt and cruelty? I swear, there is a complaint box in heaven, because not even GOD can win with some people. Not happy unless they are complaining.
Complain if we're stuck up and snotty, and complain cause we're nice. Poor Uganda babies...
EDIT: Hey Not Epicurius, so did almost every other lighter than black person in the world, not just the Mormons. That's America, baby. It's worse in other oplaces where there aren't that many black people, have you ever heard of Pink Floyd's "The Wall"? They're British.That doesn't make it right, that makes it fact though. Heck, even black people are racist, I've heard the damndest conversations about how someone thought light-skinned African people were fake....

I know what you mean, about the Latter Day Saints being very nice to People, and I am sure they are very nice, to a certain point. The only flaw they have is that when they come to your House to preach, or make you understand that their way is the only way, to go to Heaven is when I balked, because when they have come to study the Bible with you, on their third Visit, they want to baptized you, so you are one of them. They believe that Joseph Smith, is a very important figure, and should be recognized as such, but they also forget what the Bible say about Jesus, when they are talking to you about their beliefs, they do not mention Jesus, just once or twice. I have studied with a lot of religions on their beliefs, but we just have to remember that Jesus, only preached what his Father dictated him to do, and back then there were no Religions but the Word of God, who was Law.

Actually they have to be good in order to spread the good news. Your credibility will be lose if one is not nice to fellow brothers. I believe being nicer is founded on the doctines they learned in dealing with fellow brothers. But please do give the benefit of the doubt for other Christian brothers. They ought to be good and nice in their own little way.

It's the old bait and switch routine. You're lured close with niceties and kindness but don't find out how chauvinistic and racist they are until you have committed. They call it "Lying in the name of the Lord", so they don't see dishonesty as a sin.

Mormons are nicer than other Christians because their religious legacy and path hasn't already been paved in blood thousands of years ago. They aren't afforded the luxury of having other people kill and die to spread their beliefs, so they're forced to use other tactics to get converts.

Thats a generalization and cannot be applied to every Latter Day Saint, or every Christian.

The people i know who are Mormon and are nice are not nice because of the Mormon doctrinal peculiarities nor are they nicer than the nice Christians i know,Catholic Protestant or Orthodox,nor are they nicer than the nice Jews,pagans,Hindus,Muslims I know.
Also, niceness is subjective and while i would want to be polite and gracious in all things I would want to be loving and honest and faithful and objectively virtuous in all things even more.
As A Christian, I have to say that the Mormon doctrinal peculiarities are more gnostic polytheistic "news" than Gospel Christian or even Jewish or Muslim "news".
Mormonism is not really an Abrahamic Religion in the sense that Judaism, Islam or(Historic) Christianity are.IMHO
