im picking up my boyfriend from the airport next weekend. hes been gone for three months in a very stressful situation, and the first thing he wants to do as soon as he's off the plane, is drink a good beer. can anyone suggest a cool bar thats near the airport?

I pick up my buddies at the airport all the time and I either wait for them and/or take them afterwards to Stick and Stein - it's a large sports bar with cool staff and decent food and the coldest beer around. Kick back in the barstools made from baseball bats. Just take Sepulveda south, towards Manhattan beach and it's two blocks on your right after you go under the airport. Big sign. (If you hit El Segundo, you've gone too far).VERY EASY and it has plenty of parking. Enjoy.

I work at LAX. The Encounter as stated in another answer is NOT open, its under construction. All terminals have bars, BUT, you cannot go thru security to meet him. The only Terminal that is open to non-ticketed passengers is The Tom Bradley Terminal. It is located between Terminal 3 and Terminal 4. Go upstairs to the restaurants and bars. OR you can get on a free Hotel shuttle to any major hotel. They all have nice bars. And are located close to the airport. And provide free shuttle service back to the airport or you can drive. They are on Century Bl.

Check and see if they have finished the Encounter , the bar in that spider/Jetson looking, 4 legged thing yet...it's right in the airport....Last time I checked they had all 4 legs wrapped in some plastic stuff...
