I think just as many people have vision problems as they always have, I think you see more people with glasses now than years ago because: 1] they do more vision testing and find problems more. 2] there is less of a stigma about wearing glasses than years ago. (a lot of people refused to wear them.) Remember the old saying; "guys don't make passes at girls who wear glasses" 3] because in a more advanced society where people have to drive and do quite technically challanging jobs etc; perfect vision is more important than if you were just working in the fields or something like that.

It is common nowadays. A lot of people go to school, work and they read a lot. Most of that effects people's vision and later on realize that they need glass to see better. Others, wear glasses because of the age.

Cause more people these days are diagnosed with less than perfect vision and and can afford to have it corrected. I've worn glasses most of my life. Lens tech has really improved over the last 20 yrs.. So glasses have gotten much more thinner and stylish.

Because the use of omputers are becoming increasingly essential for our modern life. That means, more eyes are damaged, and more glasses are needed.
I used to have +2.0 sight, but now I have to wear -0.5 glasses to see the whiteboard in class. It was because of staring at the computer screen for so long in order to complete my school assignments that had to be in typed format.

Because of eye problems. I also wear one. Some wear to look cool & attractive or to protect themselves from the Sun

believe it or not, everyone's eyes are different. not just by the color but by there 'vision'
some may need them to see far away, and some may need to see them to read.

some of them wear it cuz of eye problems...... others wear it cuz their friends wear it......some want to be cool....some want to be attractive.....some are nerds,,,some watch too much tv..... depends.
