I have many friends and many family member who are quite happy in their addictions, mistakes and problems. The only help they would want from you, or me, or anyone else, is just enough to buy one more case of beer, one more Loratab, one more Zanex. You may mean well, but you have not dealt with them as I have. They are good people, but what you see as a problem, is to them a lifestyle choice.

People are judged by gods word it isn't wrong to quote gods word to people, It is not our judgment but gods and as Christians it is our job to spread gods word so that people may know what there doing wrong and repent. Jesus our example had understanding but he still told people to repent, there is nothing wrong in telling a fat person that there a slothful, gluten and that they should repent, in fact it's the same as saying excise and eat less. By gods judgment you can help them.

Yes totally agree. But we're fighting human nature here.

Have you ever noticed how good we are at excusing or justifying all of our own unacceptable behavior; but so unforgiving and condemning when we notice the exact same behavior in others?!?

It's fine about the understanding thing, but we leave people to live with their own choices (and the consequenses) unless they specifically asks for help.

Until then - poke them with a stick and have a lot of fun.

I agree. What is the point of just punishing people? Does it help society? No.

'He who is without sin cast the first stone'

true. it is sometimes necessary to acknowledge problems in order to correct & prevent them.
i dont think it helps as much to just forgive & forget though.
depends what that help is.
