Why does it hurt worse when I woke up today then it did last night? What can I do to ease the pain? And how long will it take to heal? Thanks!

My cat scratched me on my eyeball (the white part not the iris) and I didn't do anything about it for a few days. It hurt worse for me because I would lay on it during the night by accident. It got so bad later on my parents took me to the hospital. At first I thought I wasn't scratched ON my eye, but I was. My eye was infected because cats paws a dirty from the litter box. He gave me special eye drops and they healed easily. If my cat scratched a centimeter closer to the color part of my eye.. it may have had been taken out O_o ! Go to the doctor asap to check it out. I forgave my kitty because it was an accident, also there was no scar on my eye.
hope you feel better :)

My advice would be to go see an eye doctor. The eye is a very complex organ and I would not take a chance of infection or anything else that a scratch to the eye may cause. The best thing to do is to go have it checked out. Maybe there is an eyedrop that can help relieve the pain.

I would agree to get to a doctor asap! Perhaps the ER if your dr is out of his office. They can check to see if you scratched your cornea or any other damage that may have occurred. And they may give you antibiotic drops if there is a threat of infection. Please act on it immediately as the eyes are nothing to mess with :) Feel better soon.

i suggest you go to a doctor as soon as possible. first because your scratch might be more serius than you think since it's in such a delicate place, and second because cat's scratches might cause infecitons..and this could be the reason why it hurts more now than before
