I'm not sure..
I just got a new Altima Coupe, but I need a bigger car since I'm usually the one hauling around my friends and family but I still want to keep my altima, since it's paid for and everything.
I've decided on an escalade, since I don't want a Van or Suburban.
BUT, I've never driven a 4x4 before, does it really matter if it is or not, which one should I get?

because I have a job and save my money.. I paid for it all in cash..well..check.
Im not really a big money blower, but I'd need to finance almost all of the escalade.
and..
I bought it because I absolutely love it.
I'd drive my altima when its just me and one other person but I have a REALLY big family so I need something that I can fit more than 5 people into.. and the back of an escalade i could fit the baby and the kids. :)
(My nephews).. their moms dont really have jobs or know what one is so i have to them everywhere.
so, the four door isnt what im worried about, i can still fit 5 people in the altima.

i have some questions. first of all, why did you JUST get a 2 door car knowing you usually haul friends and family???
also how did you already pay for an altima coupe. they hve only been out for a few months?
if you dont do any SERIOUS off roading then i would stick to a 2WD

well there is no difference on the drive of the two but it all depends on what kind of conditions u drive in. i mean if u have ever driven in the snow or sleet u know it is slick and the 4 wheel drive would help u get around in that. but if u do not get that much snow then u realy do not need 4 wheel drive. 4 whell drive is mainly for traction. it also helps in the rain. so it is realy up to u and what u think u need for ur conditions.

A lot depends on where you live/drive. Out here in Southern Cal, unless you plan on going off road, or launching a boat from a trailer, there really isn't any need for 4wd/awd.
If it snows in the winter where you are, it would help.
4wd's usually cost more out here, are more to insure, and require more maintenance (front wheel bearings usually need to be repacked twice as often, from axles have CV [constant velocity] joints, and the boots need to be changed when torn, etc.)

u probally want the two wheel drive i dont think u would go off roading in a cadillac there for u would not need a four wheel drive. u will also get a tiny bit better gas mileage with the two wheel drive since theres no transfere case on the two wheel drive

I live in NYC and few times a year, when it snow, my AWD Audi is just great. I love driving my Civic but when it snows, there's no substitute for AWD.
But last month I visited L.A. (CA) and they say that it NEVER rains in the summer. And it don't snow in So. Cal.. So AWD I hardly ever saw an Audi in L.A.
===
So ask yourself how much you NEED AWD.
Good Luck.

4x2 is only a two wheel drive , so the question is do you need a 4x4 ie a four wheel drive. are you going to drive off road most of all 4x4 never leave the road hence you don't need a 4x4 it would be a waste!!!!! personally Ive never seen a cady in the mud.

Kind of depends on where you live. Do you have a lot of ice and snow where you live. Does it rain alot where you live.i.e. are you driving on wet roads a lot. Do you do a lot of driving in unimproved roads.
If the answers to those are yes then get a 4Wd drive. If not get a 2Wd drive and save the expense.
