Poor performance by Eurostar (UK) Limited (the UK arm of the international train service transferred to the private sector in 1996 as part of the PFI deal)

There are no longer any public sector rail companies in the UK, and Eurostar is in and has always been in the private sector, so far as the UK is concerned. SNCF and SNCB in France and Belgium, the state railway companies, may have a share in it, however. The first answer is, I think, confusing Eurostar - who run the train services between London and Paris/Brussels - with the High Speed Rail link.
